Coordinated Entry Manager | Position Description
YWCA Dayton, dedicated to the empowerment of women and the elimination of racism, seeks an energetic, dedicated person to be an integral part of our team. The Coordinated Entry Manager is responsible for assisting agency clients/residents with obtaining and maintaining housing through a Housing First Model. The Coordinated Entry Manager, as part of the Housing program, will provide culturally-inclusive and trauma-informed services to ensure access to housing resources for all YWCA Dayton clients and residents. This person embodies the vision, mission and values of YWCA Dayton.
- Serve as YWCA Dayton lead and primary contact for all coordinated entry projects and with coordinated entry partners.
- Complete and review Montgomery County housing assessments with Shelter, Housing, and Outreach clients within each program’s timeline.
- Engage in creative problem solving conversations with clients to find alternative solutions to housing needs including landlord mediation, guidance on tenant rights, and safety planning.
- Coordinate ongoing meetings with clients and staff to complete and review transition plans and housing retention plans.
- Ensure and monitor quality process and team readiness while meeting housing goals for individuals and families in the domestic violence shelter and housing programs.
- Connect clients with appropriate referrals for services and resources to ensure the retention of permanent housing.
- Drive, assess, and assist in the removal of barriers and achievement of housing goals.
- Advocate for clients and actively participate with interdisciplinary team to identify and maintain viable housing options.
- Maintain timely, accurate and on-going documentation in individual client files via electronic record-keeping software, paper charts, and reports following contract requirements, agency and department policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular communication and provide status updates to clients on the coordinated entry wait list.
- Work closely with agency staff and community partners to develop, implement, and evaluate program success and to modify program components as deemed necessary.
- Complete timely program reports.
- Attend agency and department meetings.
- Represent YWCA Dayton at inter-agency and networking meetings.
- Perform other tasks as assigned and required by program goals and objectives.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Agile and able to handle emergency situations.
- Sensitivity to the needs of families in crisis.
- Strong analytical skills – able to solve problems, make decisions, perform crisis intervention, etc.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Willing to follow supervisory directions and attend trainings, staff meetings and conferences as needed for the position.
- Good computer skills, with the ability to maintain accurate electronic records.
- Good communication and interpersonal problem resolution skills.
- Working knowledge of typical needs and issues of target population.
- Knowledge and understanding of domestic violence, homelessness and interventions in residential settings.
- Flexibility, creativity, self-motivation and the ability to establish rapport with a culturally diverse population.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required.
- Experience in housing and domestic violence services.
- 2-3 years of experience in administrative services, preferably a social services or nonprofit environment.
