Accounts Payable Manager | Position Description

YWCA Dayton, dedicated to the empowerment of women and the elimination of racism, seeks a dedicated person to be an integral part of the team. The Accounts Payable Manager, as a part of the Finance team, is responsible for maintaining financial data and effectively communicating the information within. The Accounts Payable Manager has a demonstrated high level of professionalism and interpersonal communication skills. This person is responsible for providing organized, proactive and flexible support in order to meet the needs of the organization efficiently and accurately. This person supports the vision, mission and values of YWCA Dayton.


  • Accurate and timely maintenance of the accounts payable subledger.
  • Assist in ensuring that reports are produced timely and accurately from financial software.
  • Oversee accounts payable process including obtaining and maintaining approval of invoices, purchase requests, coding and input of invoices, credit card monitoring, and paying vendors.
  • Maintain vendor relationships.
  • Reconcile vendor balances on as-needed basis.
  • Maintain and organize various spreadsheets for grant expenditures, vendor spending, and cash flow.
  • Provide data to assist management with information and grant requests; and to assist with organizing, implementing and evaluating programs.
  • Complete monthly credit card reconciliations.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of accounting database functionality, records, files and software updates.
  • Responsible for filing and record retention of financial documents for the agency.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager in payroll time card filing and reconciliations.
  • Other duties as assigned to assist the Accounting Manager and Finance Director in other projects.
  • Meet goals and objectives in accordance to organizational strategic plan.
  • Assist with various administrative needs of Business Office as needed.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work in deadline-driven environments.
  • Demonstrated intermediate to advanced office experience and skilled in using Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and handle multiple assignments with competing priorities.


  • Must be responsive to the needs and requests of clients, residents, staff and Board of Directors.
  • Must extend courtesy, friendliness and overall respect to all of the above.
  • Will collaborate with other staff and/or departments to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Will be available to times and events when evenings and weekends will be required to fulfill duties.
