Giving Tuesday | Dec. 1, 2020
On Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020, we celebrated #GivingTuesday, a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.
Because of your #GivingTuesday support, we were able to raise an incredible $15,140 in just 24 hours!
That’s 51% over our goal of $10,000. And, thanks to a generous matching donor, your gifts resulted in a grand total of $25,140 to ensure our critical 24/7 shelter and support never stop.
We are On A Mission for our community; and you have been On A Mission for us. We are exceedingly grateful. Watch for updates throughout 2021 on the impact of your #GivingTuesday support, as well as further ways to get involved (yes, even virtually). Together, we will ensure peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all in the new year, no matter what.
YWCA Dayton continues to remain open and available 24/7/365 to shelter and serve the most vulnerable among us: survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking; women transitioning out of homelessness; women and families in need of safe, supportive housing. Your support ensures these critical safety nets continue, uninterrupted. Thank you for continuing to be On a Mission with us.

Created by the team at the Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact at the “>92nd Street Y — a cultural center in New York City that, since 1874, has been bringing people together around the values of service and giving back — #GivingTuesday connects diverse groups of individuals, communities, and organizations around the world for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving.
#GivingTuesday harnesses the potential of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities; it provides a platform for them to encourage the donation of time, resources, and talents to address local challenges. It also brings together the collective power of a unique blend of partners — nonprofits, civic organizations, businesses and corporations, as well as families and individuals — to encourage and amplify small acts of kindness.
As a global movement, #GivingTuesday unites countries around the world by sharing our capacity to care for and empower one another.
