As one of the oldest and largest women’s organizations in the nation, YWCA Dayton has been at the forefront of the most pressing social movements for nearly 150 years — from voting rights to civil rights, from affordable housing to pay equity, from violence prevention to health care reform. Today, we combine programming and advocacy to generate institutional change in three key areas: racial justice and civil rights, empowerment and economic advancement of women and girls, and health and safety of women and girls. Violence Against Women
YWCA is the single largest network of domestic violence shelters and services in the country. We are committed to supporting survivors and reducing violence against women and girls.
Economic Empowerment
Affordable, accessible, supportive housing is critical to women’s safety and economic empowerment. We help women gain independence and build self-sufficiency.
Women & Girls Leadership
Girls with confidence become women of influence. We empower girls to grow in strength, courage, and wisdom -- and then celebrate the powerful women they become.
Social Justice Advocacy
Women cannot be free if one among us is not free. We advocate for an end to inequality and discrimination against women in every sphere — economic, political, and social.
