150th Anniversary
Nov 26 all-day
150th Anniversary @ N/A

In 1870, seven women joined together to ask of themselves and of the Dayton community what they could do to “elevate women in our midst.” Their response became the foundation for YWCA Dayton, which is celebrating its 150th founding day on Nov. 26, 2020.

As part of the oldest and largest women’s organization in the nation, YWCA Dayton has been at the forefront of the most pressing social movements for 150 years — from voting rights to civil rights, from affordable housing to pay equity, from violence prevention to health care reform. Today, we combine programming and advocacy to generate institutional change in three key areas: health and safety of women and girls, economic advancement of women and girls, and racial justice and civil rights.

To put that in perspective: We’ve been On A Mission for all women and children since five years after the Civil War ended. Learn more at www.ywcadayton.org/history.

Dayton Turkey Trot (Charity Beneficiary)

Dayton Turkey Trot (Charity Beneficiary) @ Virtual

The Dayton Thanksgiving tradition continues virtually in 2020 featuring the Thankful Turkey Half Marathon, 10K & 5K gear. Run the distance on your own or with your family and friends on a date and route of your choosing.

Here’s how it works:

1. Register to secure your spot.

2. Get your commemorative event gear mailed straight to your door.

3. Run/Walk the distance between Thanksgiving Day – November 29th. Feel free to use your favorite tracking app or watch to help keep track of your time and distance.

4. Submit your results to the leader board, print off your finisher certificate and share (brag!) with your friends using this year’s selfie smile medal.

As a charity beneficiary, YWCA Dayton receives $2 for every participant from the Dayton area, plus any donations made during registration. Thank you for the support!
