YWCA Dayton is able to thrive because of the kind support of our volunteers. YWCA Dayton relies on volunteers to help fulfill daily, weekly and monthly tasks of the organization. YWCA Dayton is currently in need of volunteers to help in both direct and indirect service capacities. Whether you are interested in children, cooking or clerical work, YWCA Dayton has the volunteer opportunity for you!

Donations Sorter

Community Partners act as agency representatives at community events by providing general information about YWCA Dayton and our various service areas including: domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking and human trafficking. Click Here for Summer 2017 opportunities

Donations Sorter sorts, organizes and stores in-kind donations in Hope’s Closet and other general donations that come into the YWCA Dayton.

Donation Drive volunteers organize a donation drive with their organization, neighbors or church group, utilizing the YWCA Dayton’s Wish List (year-round), Shelter Wish List (year-round), Food Drive Donation List (year- round), Household Cleaning Supplies Donation Drive List (Jan-Jun), Back to School Wish List (Jul-Sep) or Holiday Wish List (Oct-Dec).

Group/Volunteer Life Skills/Empowerment Groups Volunteers are welcome to plan a number of activities for clients such as: pampering (haircuts, makeovers, facials, massages, etc.), discussion groups, motivational or informative speeches, poetry writing, résumé writing/mock interviewing, journaling, movie nights, helping children with their homework/tutoring, and many more.

Special Events Assistants YWCA Dayton hosts seven special events each year to raise awareness of, and funds for, its critical service areas and advocacy efforts. We need helpers to greet and check-in guests, assist with location setup and tear-down, provide directions, and more.

Welcome Baskets Volunteer Groups are welcome to assist in creating Welcome Home Baskets for women and children entering YWCA housing and/or shelter, and also for women transitioning to permanent housing in the community. Groups would provide baskets for this project; other items come from donations stored at YWCA.
